Services Provided: The Milwaukee Turners are dedicated to Confronting Mass Incarceration. Join us in the fight to eradicate injustices within our criminal justice system. The Milwaukee Turners are the oldest civic group in the city with a rich history of civic engagement that offer non-partisan civic educational programs and mental and physical wellness programming for all Milwaukeeans. Educating the public about mass incarceration by holding informative events. Collaborating with stakeholders for positive change. Researching effective ways to achieve dramatic reductions in prison populations. Our Zero Youth Corrections initiative focuses on ensuring young people are not permanently negatively affected by being directly or indirectly incarcerated. The Milwaukee Turners’ sound mind program is a new series of nonpartisan workshops to educate young potential voters on important issues affecting them, and have them pledge to vote in order to effect change in their communities. Yoga classes, rock climbing, gymnastics for those system impacted.
